Demolition of Calder Tower on Birchfield Road

Demolition work is continuing on the first of three towers on the Birchfield Road on the A34 in Birmingham.  The video below shows the bizarre site of a machine gnaw its way through the building, exposing the painted walls of the flats in the block. (more…)

Community Asset Transfer Sessions for Voluntary and Community Groups

Birmingham City Council is developing new lease / protocol arrangements to improve its process for transferring Council – owned builings and land into the management of voluntary and community groups.
An event is to take place on Tuesday 23rd February 2010 6.30 – 8.30 p.m. at Birmingham Midland Institute to explore the opportunities available.
